Book Review
Oikos Family Ministries has run Moms retreats for many years. At these Moms retreats my own dear mother – who has been instrumental in many ways by planting seeds in my own life – has prepared and equipped me to help other Moms to home educate (Homeschool). She visited these retreats, had tea with the Moms and soon discovered that the same questions kept coming up. Common questions were ‘What about the in-laws?’ and ‘How do I help my own parents, to be accepting and supportive of our decision to home educate (Homeschool)?’
For this reason, I asked my mom to please write her response to these questions. She was very reluctant and replied “I’m not an author, Sonja. I can’t do that.” So I sent her emails with the questions attached and she would answer them. I then lifted these answers and compiled a little booklet. Before I published it, I said, “Look what I’ve done, Mom. I’ve put a little book together called Letters from Granny Oikos”.
After that, we put this little publication together. Mom approved of it because she hoped that it would be helpful. And so here it is.

Description
This is a collection of letters written by Granny Oikos, Yvonne McCurrach, who is the mother of Sonja Wood. Granny Oikos has been an actively involved granny from the very start of Greg and Sonja Wood pioneering Home Education (Homeschooling) in South Africa. At a recent Oikos Moms Retreat, run by Greg and Sonja at their home in the KZN Midlands, Granny Oikos shared some of her years of experience in being an involved, hands-on mother and grandmother. It is these pearls of wisdom which we now share with you through this little booklet.
