Book Review
I wrote this book in hope that it will reveal Jesus being the author, perfecter and finisher of our faith. To illustrate this in a small way, I’d like to just read a little bit out of the book for you. It’s from chapter 5, called “Panic or pray”.
“Trauma used to seize me so dramatically that I would be weakened by it to the point of helplessness and despair. Slowly I’ve learnt that trauma can be a mighty strengthening time of growth and opportunity to utterly submit to Jesus. I remember when our little 18 month old son, Jamie, woke one morning completely paralysed. This would be a good enough reason for me to fall into a state of utter panic and uselessness. Instead, God has shown me how to seize each of these such moments and turn them to Him immediately. Sadly, this is not always an automatic response of our human nature as I have learnt many times before. Yet God is patient with my failings and He gently guides me through each struggle. And as He does, we discover His perfectness in each situation when we focus on Him.”
I’d also like to just read a bit of the back cover to you which was written by our pastor, Jonathan Leach.
