1989

Founded

The vision was birthed. A vision to teach children at home and raise them for God’s Kingdom purposes.
 
Founding scripture – Matt 6:33 ‘Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all the things will be added unto you’.

1989-1999

The First Ten Years

Oikos Family Ministries began from home and over the first ten years the philosophy, ethos, and mission was developed. Parent support books were written (by Oikos co-founder Sonja Wood) while the importing and distribution of resources to help parents to teach their children at home was established.

1999-2009

The Next Ten Years

Oikos Print House began to develop. Whereby printing rights for KONOS (Social Study Subjects) Maths, Language, Bible Studies, and a variety of other supportive resources, were being established and fulfilled. The foundation of the website and Oikos Production Studios began.

2009-2019

The Following Ten Years

These are the years where Oikos moved from home base to the property next-door, where a larger Print House was built to cater for the growing needs and developments of the ministry.

Oikos website, Oikos Publishing (PTY) Ltd, Oikos Production Studios, and Oikos in Social media began, Facebook, YouTube, Podcast, and Instagram.

The Current Decade

The world is in the midst of a global pandemic.

Oikos continues to provide support by means of the printing and distribution of home education resources, while keeping active support via the website, social media, podcast and videos.
